Meet the team
All the staff at Roberts Automotive are here to help you.
PJ Roberts
Email: pj@roberts-automotive.com
Having graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Physics back in the Pleistocene era, PJ knows a little bit about history, and a lot about how cars work. PJ started out working for his dad back when dads weren't too forgiving of mistakes. His dad, Fred Roberts, detested mediocrity, but he did like donuts, and that is why the original shop was behind Burnside Donuts on Manor Ridge Drive. In the present location you will find PJ assisting customers, answering the phone, and helping the technicians. A tireless student, he works hard to stay abreast the latest innovations in Volkswagen and Audi technology and technique. When not at the shop he can be found biking, skiing, or trying to catch up to his beagle, Lucy.
Kevin McCarley
Despite his devilish good looks, Kevin is serious about his work. Cerebral is the best way to describe him. There is just about no problem he can't solve. Much younger than PJ, he has been around since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Don't need your car fixed? This ASE-certified technician will remodel your bed and breakfast. Check out his work at his dad's place at www.lovelacemanor.com. Want him to convert your diesel to run on vegetable oil? Check out the newspaper article in our Library.
Christine Karlow
Email: christine@roberts-automotive.com
If you do business with us, you will hear from Christine. She is the "how are we doing?" part of the business, and loves to get your feedback. Having a degree in psychology, she can also deal with your neuroses relative to car repairs. When not at the shop, she is busy chasing around her 4 year old.
Jim Manbeck
Jim has been working in the automotive field for most of his life. Like PJ, he also learned from his father, who had 40 years of automotive experience. He lives and breathes all things mechanical and electrical. Along with 30 years of experience repairing imports, Jim also has experience as a service manager, service writer, parts manager, and shop foreman. To many friends Jim is known as Captain Gadget. His interests include computers, restoring Fiats (of which he has three), traveling, and testing his culinary skills. He has owned 103 cars and a couple of motorcycles since he was sixteen years old.
Ken Thomas
Email: Ken@roberts-automotive.com
Having been in the business over 20 years, our service advisor, Ken Thomas, brings a wealth of experience to his job. His knowledge, experience and consideration for others is your assurance that you are dealing with someone you can trust and who knows your car.
Dustin Huffman
Upon graduating from Antonelli Institute in Philadelphia, Dustin started his working career in the photography field. After 8 years in the business, he realized he could no longer ignore his love for mechanics. After working on cars and motorcycles as a hobby he got a job in Baltimore restoring Italian motor scooters and then moved on to automobiles over 9 years ago. On weekends and after work, you will find him working on his own hot rods, hanging out with his fellow car club members, The Rusty Dozen, and spending time with his fiance' Samantha.
